I’m a UI/UX/Product Designer based in Lake Macquarie, NSW. Originally from a small coastal town on the Mid North Coast, I knew from a very early age that I wanted to be a creative professional. Initially setting my dreams for an Architecture career, when starting high school, before being exposed to the world of Graphic Design. From there I shifted towards wanting to work for an extreme sports magazine before discovering the dynamic and ever changing environment of the world wide web. The rest is history or can be discussed over an extravagant milkshake.

My career so far has allowed me to work with hundreds of clients and their businesses. Many of which from the very start all the way through to the success stories they are today. Some as they cemented themselves as leaders within their industry.
In addition to my work in a few agencies, I have also been exposed to working on great products. Currently, as I brainstorm, wireframe, conceptualise and deliver web apps as a UI/UX Designer for Plant Assessor. They are preparing to say goodbye to a 17-year-old platform and rebrand with potentially 7 new web apps. Previously whilst experiencing the rewarding start-up world with my involvement as the first Product Designer at Liftango.
Plant Assessor allows users to access machine-specific safety and risk assessment information in real-time. At present my role has seen me begin the early stages of a design system and begin the design of 3-4 of the potential 7 apps that will be available at launch. I have been part of the strategy and planning stages to identify what will be brought over from the 17-year-old platform we will be replacing as well as documenting the functionality that will be improved upon and introduced for the launch products. This has resulted in the creation of many sitemaps, wireframes and app designs. We have recently brought on a second designer which has put me in a leadership role being responsible for creating briefs at times and running internal design-related workshops and meetings. This role has also exposed me to some intense user research sessions and explorations requiring me to adopt some new techniques and tools that ensure the right information is being collected in an efficient manor and timeframe.
EngineRoom is a digital marketing powerhouse! Empowering clients with the EngineRoom platform and supporting businesses with the Digital Experience team. My role saw me working with clients to develop sitemaps, wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes before building their dream website that's effective in meeting their digital marketing goals. This role was a very unique experience being responsible for both sides of the fence, design and (Webflow) development.
Zimple Digital is a leading Digital Agency in the Newcastle/Lake Macquarie area. My role with Zimple saw me cover a range of disciplines such as UI/UX Design, Strategy, Brand Design, Digital Design, Photography and Videography. I worked within an assets team containing 2 other designers and 2 developers, as well as a digital marketing team, collaborating often with the designers whilst also having the responsibility of working autonomously on projects.
As the first employed Product Designer at the startup my role was to consolidate all the various pieces of commissioned design work and assets into a system that allowed the 2 core apps to be expanded upon. In addition to adding features to the core products I was also tasked with pulling together a sales tool that allowed for the products to be white-labelled in potential clients branding to assist the sales team with winning projects. Whilst also working on the core apps client white-labelling I redesigned the backend platform that allowed our on-demand public transport clients to be able to manage their fleets and customers bookings.
My role at Zimple Digital (formerly Zimpleweb) at the time was to strategise and design a range of digital assets, products, platforms and systems. On each project I worked with Project Managers, a Development Team and Digital Marketers to ensure the deliverables were creative, innovative, user-centric and ultimately solved client’s problems. I initially joined the company as 1 of 2 designers with the second designer being a director of the company. Within months of my joining though I was able to implement highly efficient processes and set a standard of quality on our projects that saw me absorb all of the design and handle all client communication requirements (prior to hiring any Project Managers).
Magicdust is a web design studio based in Mona Vale NSW offering affordable websites for small to medium sized businesses. My role at Magicdust saw me communicate with a large number of clients to design websites to suit their needs and budget. I was part of a team of 4 designers that worked with the sales, development, support and admin teams to execute a large number of websites over a short period of time.
Hooch Creative was an Ultimo based creative agency specialising in brand identity, strategy, art direction, print design, websites and applications. As an intern I was provided with exposure to their clients and project briefs whilst also given opportunities to develop my skills via some concept briefs. This was where I first discovered digital ecosystems and when my love for UI/UX design was realised.
Having lecturers who were industry professionals, that maintained their careers throughout the course, aided me in gaining a depth of practical design knowledge whilst studying at CATC. With the curriculum containing real world briefs that match those found in agencies I was confident when graduating that I had developed key technical job ready skills to adapt to whatever facet of the industry I desired to enter.
